This start site has a TON of configuration already done.

There is NO CUSTOM CODE on this site - except for some CSS (which I don't consider to be code).

You'll want to check out the Extend menu to see all the additional modules that have been installed.

The Basic HTML text editor has been updated with Linkit, Media Embed, Image styles for Media and you can insert any html in the source.
